TALKING HANDS
Attitudes and social distance towards groups that are rarely contacted in society, especially for deaf individuals; It is known that they are not provided with the necessary opportunities for their full participation in economic, social and cultural life and for them to achieve the standard of living and welfare that is considered normal in the society they live in. One of the aims of the Ali Yavuzçehre Foundation is to ensure inclusive communication in society and the business life for individuals with hearing loss.
For this purpose, Ali Yavuzçehre Foundation wants to combat all kinds of obstacles and prejudices by enabling individuals with hearing loss to use sign language, overcome communication barriers and communicate effectively, and to support the principles of equality, inclusion and diversity in the business life with the use of sign language.
As Ali Yavuzçehre Foundation, our aim is;
To ensure the dissemination of Turkish sign language in the society,
To take a major leap towards the equal and full involvement of deaf individuals in the business life,
To ensure that deaf individuals have access to their fundamental rights to employment and economic freedom,
To raise awareness about sign langugage comprehension,
To create a supportive and inclusive culture compatible with deaf culture.
In our Talking Hands project, where we take steps to ensure equality in the business life, we implement projects and studies within the institution in order to achieve this equality.
With this purpose, amongst our project,
-Communication-based studies of institutions that have deaf colleagues,
-Increasing intelligibility and communication quality by supporting direct communication through the use of sign language,
-We ensure that individuals with hearing loss can maintain their sturdy points of focus, visual orientation and organization skills within the institution.
